Terms of Use

These terms apply to Amad Academy's courses and lessons, its website and its learning platform. By starting a course, or by using an Amad Academy account, you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.

Courses and lessons

• Amad Academy teaches chemistry as courses that run for several months: in person, live online, or through recorded video courses, as agreed with each student.
• The course fee covers the lessons and the student's access to the learning platform for the course. It is for the whole course, not for each lesson.
• How lessons are arranged depends on the student: some have a fixed weekly time and some arrange lessons as they need them, always by agreement with Mr. Amad Badel.
• Fees, and when they are paid, are agreed with each student before the course starts. We do not publish prices.

Cancelling and moving lessons

• If you need to cancel or move a lesson, tell Mr. Amad Badel as early as possible, before the lesson, on WhatsApp or by phone call.
• If a student cancels late or does not come, Mr. Amad Badel decides case by case whether the lesson is made up.
• If Mr. Amad Badel has to cancel or move a lesson, the student gets a make-up lesson.
• If an online lesson is cut short by a technical problem on Mr. Amad Badel's side, the lost time is made up. A problem on the student's side, such as their internet, power or device, is not made up automatically.

Fees and refunds

• Because a course lasts several months and its fee is for the whole course, missing a lesson does not reduce the fee, and neither does stopping early on its own.
• If a student wants to stop partway through a course, they should tell Mr. Amad Badel. Whether any part of the fee is returned is decided case by case, depending on the reason and how much of the course has been taught.
• If Mr. Amad Badel ends a course because of serious misbehaviour, whether any part of the fee is returned is also decided case by case.

Lessons in person and online

• Students are expected to be respectful and on time. Mr. Amad Badel may end a lesson early if they are not.
• In-person lessons take place at Mr. Amad Badel's base or at the student's home. For students under 18 there is no fixed rule about whether a parent or guardian is present; this is agreed with the family.
• The videos on the learning platform show only Mr. Amad Badel teaching; students do not appear in them. Nobody other than Mr. Amad Badel may record, photograph or share a lesson.

Accounts

• There is no public sign-up: Mr. Amad Badel creates every account and sends an invitation.
• One account is for one person, unless Mr. Amad Badel has set up a shared account for a family or a small group. On a shared account, each person confirms who they are before quizzes, so that results go to the right student.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
• Students under 18 need the agreement of a parent or guardian.

Devices

Each account can be used on a limited number of devices. To use a new device, request it from your account; Mr. Amad Badel approves or declines the request.

Access period

Your access starts and ends on the dates agreed with Mr. Amad Badel. When it ends, you can no longer sign in until it is extended.

Course content

All videos, files, quizzes, notes and solutions are for your own personal study. You must not record, download (unless a file is marked as downloadable), copy, share or re-upload them, or give anyone else access to them. Videos show your name as a watermark.

Quizzes and exams

Do your own work. Do not share questions or answers, and do not use another person's account. Attempts may be reviewed, and Mr. Amad Badel may cancel an attempt that breaks these rules.

Acceptable use

Do not try to get around the platform's security, access other people's accounts or data, overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful.

Suspension and ending a course

Mr. Amad Badel may suspend or close an account, or end a course, if these terms are broken. Where possible, we explain why first.

Ownership of content

The lessons, videos, quizzes, notes and other materials belong to Amad Academy (Mr. Amad Badel). Using the platform gives you a personal right to study them during your access period, and nothing more.

Your personal information

How we collect, use and protect personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Liability

Amad Academy teaches with care and tries to keep lessons and the platform running, but we cannot promise that the platform will always work without interruption. We are not responsible for losses caused by things outside our control, such as power or internet failures, or by a student's own device or connection. Nothing in these terms limits any right or responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applied in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. If we cannot settle a disagreement by talking, it will be decided by the courts of Duhok.

Changes and contact
